St. Ives International views the education events as an integral part of As Dark As Light. Many of these workshops, lectures, artists' talks and discussion groups are run by exhibiting or local artists.

Artist Mary Oliver works with members of the Pengarth Day Centre in Penzance. The project is based around expectations and visions of the eclipse and includes visits to several of the exhibitions and sites during the summer. the resulting work is on display on the staircase at Newlyn Art Gallery in the Autumn.

Artist Teresa Garland leads a series of workshops at the John daniel Centre, in Penzance in the autumn. The project involves a visit to Tacita Dean's exhibition at Newlyn Art Gallery. the emphasis is on individual responses to and interpretations of Tacita's work.

Maker and willow wizard Geraldine Jones collaborates with St. Ives International in a training programme involving local unwaged members of the community. this project aims to develop skills which can lead to employment opportunities in the future.

St Ives International has established an annual scheme which develops a relationship with three selected local artists. Each year the three artists can gain advice and support on marketing and promoting their work. this year's artists are Amanda Lorens, Andy Whall, Paul Ziemacki.

  There are great variety of events planned and St. Ives International is contributing to the programme with a photographic project. Colin Robins, photographer and lecturer works with people of all ages using a 10 x 8 camera to make life size portraits.
