Dalla

Dalla, internationally acclaimed leading lights of Cornish traditional music bring their music back home 'where it do belong to be'. They will be performing pieces from their stunning new album 'Cribbar',  including music specially written by them for the shows ‘Oh Mary’ and the BBC Radio 3/RPS award winning show ‘One Day Two Dawns’.  Their exhilarating, moving and dazzling performances convey the sheer joy they take in Cornwall’s indigenous music and song. They also reveal some of  the great stories behind the pieces.  The show features multi-instrumental dance music on fiddle,  clarinets, bouzouki, guitar, percussion, and scoots (Cornish clogs) and songs in both Cornish and English.

Dalla filter the sound of this ancient Celtic land through myriad other influences, infusing the whole damn thing with contemporary innovation and energy, as well as multi-instrumentalist virtuosity, to arrive at a kind of World Music with a Cornish accent. A rich aural tapestry that would awaken the dead. Sublime.”  ****” (Rock’n’Reel)
