Walking and Cycling Maps shown on this website

Surveyor Ernie Biddle has spent many years producing unique and original survey maps for the Camel Trail and other cycle and walking routes in Cornwall. The result is the stunning and unique series of individual maps some of which you can see on this web site. Images used on our website are not print quality because of the nature of the net - however they have now been incorporated into a full colour folding map which gives outstanding detail for users of Cornwall's paths and trails.

Notes about some of the Cycle Trails in Cornwall - from Ernie Biddle, map maker.

  • The Camel Trail is virtually flat for the entire length.
  • Poldice Valley or the Coast to Coast Minerals Trail fairly flat with one or two small hills.
  • Pentewan Valley from St Austell to Pentewan flat. From the turning off at Penhaven it is fairly strenuous to The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Mevagissey.
  • Redruth & Chasewater Trail hilly in places but not too strenuous.
  • Tresavean Trail Flat very good views on a clear day.
  • Tehidy Trail fairly flat.
  • Chasewater trail moderate.
  • Portreath Branch Line some parts are strenuous and a lot of on road sections.
  • The Great Flat Lode. Steeped in History - there are about 24 Engine Houses around the 7.5 circular route. Moderate to strenuous .
  • Penzance to Lands End all on road and very strenuous but worth the ride.
