Coarse FishingFishing in our three coarse fishing lakes, is available for all our visitors, at a small weekly charge* of £15 per rod, per person, per week or part week.
Two lakes are stocked with a mixture of rudd, chubb, perch, tench, roach and carp, with many into double figures. The other is devoted entirely to carp.
Our waters are not subject to a close season. Children under 14 will not be permitted to fish unless they are accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
We currently have 3 lakes and are presently building a 4th (see photos bottom right), which should be ready to fish in Spring 2005.
The nearest lake is devoted to carp and tench and is about 200 metres from the accommodation/camping areas, the second lake is about 800 metres, but you can drive a car to a car park which is very close to the lake. The third lake is about 300 metres further on from this car park, which can now also be driven to. Both the second and third lakes are well stocked with a variety of coarse fish.
Anglers must have a National Rivers Authority Fishing License, which can be obtained locally if needed.
Fishing Rules:
- Barbless Hooks Only
- Children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times
- Landing nets and a disgorger are a must
- No Tiger Nuts or Peanuts etc, boilies are allowed, but only in moderation please
- No fish to be kept in Landing Nets
- Ground Baiting is permitted in moderation, at certain times of the year
- Dawn to Dusk fishing ONLY (no night fishing), and people must leave the lake areas at dusk
- No carp of any kind to be kept in any Keep Nets
- Keep Nets are permitted on all lakes, apart from the Carp Lake
- No swimming is permitted in the lakes and advance marking of pegs (by beach towels etc.) is not permitted!
Bait and Tackle
We only have a small on-site shop which sells essential items and bread, sweetcorn and luncheon meat. For fishing baits and fishing tackle etc. we recommend that our anglers visit either of the following dedicated stores:
Homeleigh Garden Centre has a large fishing department and is 15 miles from St. Tinney and located on the A388 one and a half miles from Launceston on the main Holsworthy Road.
OR
Waterfront Shooting and Fishing is 11 miles from St. Tinney and is located next to the sea canal in Bude.
*Please note: The St. Tinney Farm Fishing Permit are only sold on a seven day basis, we do not do day fishing tickets. So you must pay the full seven day price, even if you want to fish for less days! Even our seven day Permit is still much cheaper than a days fishing at many Day Ticket fisheries!!

Bosinver is a family run small business in the beautiful Cornish countryside near St Austell on the mild south facing coast. It is a small farm in a hidden, peaceful valley with friendly farm animals. Bosinver is just 3 miles from the sea and close to Heligan gardens and the Eden project.
Here at Bosinver we have our own lake, which has rudd and tench in it. However, fishing is not a priority here as we are trying to encourage a diversity of wildlife, both flora and fauna and the lake is home to a remarkable variety of species. We are quite happy for you to fish at any time, no licences are required but for the really serious fishermen our fish are not really much of a challenge as they jump out of the water onto your line as soon as you throw some bait in - ideal for encouraging youngsters though!
All around Bosinver there are many fisheries to cater for all your requirements: River Fishing - The attraction of Cornwall is that the salmon fishing season extends until mid-December on the River Camel. Stillwater and coarse - Only a mile or so from Bosinver is Glenleigh Farm fishery. In their lake they have Carp, tench, rudd, roach and eels. Contact Mr. Tregunna on 01726 73154. Whiteacres, near Newquay is very highly rated as some huge specimens have been caught here, they offer a wide range of all species. Open all year. Contact 0800 3893845.
